Our mission
Most online calculators serve a global English audience. The Arab world deserves better. Tax-free regimes, sharia-defined obligations, Hijri-calendar planning, Saudi/UAE-specific labor and finance regulations - each of these reshapes the math, and most generic calculators get them wrong or skip them entirely. HisabWeb's mission is to ship calculators that respect the regulatory and cultural context the Arab user actually lives in, in language they prefer, with the formula behind every answer so they can verify and learn.
Arabic-first, not Arabic-translated
Arabic is the primary language of HisabWeb. The root URL serves Arabic; English (/en) is the mirror. Calculator titles, descriptions, FAQs, and source citations are written natively in both languages - not auto-translated. Numbers display in the user's locale (Arabic-Indic or Latin digits), dates respect Hijri / Gregorian as relevant, and RTL layout is the default for the Arabic experience. Arabic morphology (correct number-noun agreement, gender, diacritics in religious terms) is reviewed manually.
Quality standards
Every calculator is built from the underlying formula, not an opaque approximation. Regulatory limits (SAMA 65% DBR, CBUAE 50% DBR, GOSI 9.75% Saudi, GPSSA 11% Emirati modern scheme, Saudi Labor Law Articles 84-85, UAE Federal Decree-Law 33/2021 Article 51, etc.) are encoded as named constants tied to the cited source - so when the rule changes, one place changes. Each calculator page lists its sources prominently; if you click through, you'll find the official regulator, fatwa portal, or academic reference behind the numbers. We don't fake author credentials or invented reviewers - see our Editorial Policy.
Built for the Arab world
Calculators are designed for what people in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the wider region actually need. Personal finance is split Saudi (SAMA) and UAE (CBUAE) because their regulations are genuinely different. Net salary is split Saudi (GOSI/SANED) and UAE (GPSSA modern + legacy) for the same reason. Zakat uses Saudi-relevant nisab calibration. Countdowns target Islamic events (Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Hajj, Eid al-Adha) with dual calendar support. We add country-specific versions where regulations differ, not generic wrappers.
Privacy and what we don't do
We don't collect your salary, your net worth, or any inputs you enter - calculations run in your browser and nothing is sent to a server unless you explicitly submit a contact form. We don't sell ads (yet); when we do, they will be respectful, sectioned, and never confused with calculator output. We don't track you across sites, run third-party fingerprinting, or sell anonymized data. We use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which calculators help people most.
